Lol  I have had some time to make some Thanksgiving cards I will share with you in bulk.  I will try to come back later and fill in some information but if I do not and you have any questions, just post them in the comments and I will answer as soon as I can!

Tree Colors

This is one of my favorite sets and one of my oldest.  When they came out with the Clear Mount sets I tried them and decided due to my limited space I needed to go that route.  This is one of the only sets I have left that is wood mounted.  Using up some of the In Colors that will be going out in a few weeks.  The tree is embossed

Coastal Trees

It was such a cooooold morning when I made this card.  I live on a 9 acre wooded lot with lots of beautiful trees which was what drew me to this set to begin with.  So as I look out the window that morning and saw the frost on the trees it chose my colors for me.  Coastal Cabana reminded me that morning of the cold winter weather we had been having.  I stamped the trees and then did some sponging.  I distressed the edges a bit.  The Sentiment is on a Dimensional.

Trees

Well, I looked it up when I got this set out.  I bought it in 2001.  So I have had it for just about 12 years and it is still a very popular set.  Here I embossed the image in black and sponged some color here and there.  I ran the thin edge of the marker along one side of each tree to bring the brown together.  Since Early Espresso came out I have made that my go to brown.  I need to place an order and decided to spare my EE and go back to using more Chocolate Chip.  It still works just fine ;-)

Embossed Tree

This was a card that I designed a while back. The teen girls from our church put them all together. They handed them out with a handmade ornament to the elderly when we went caroling right before Christmas.  The trick to get the center flat is to make a template with the center cut out to go on the outside of the Impressions folder when you run it through the Big Shot.  I have heard of a few that have broke their Big shot by making the template too thick.  I made mine with thin Chipboard.  If it seems too tight do not put it through the machine.  I just kept trying mine until it went through tight but not hard.  We colored the Hollies in with markers.  The tree was stamped in Garden green and then we took the Chocolate Chip marker to do the trunk and a few branches. I am using the extras that I had cut for Thank You cards.  Have a great weekend!

Student Driver

One of my very dearest friend's Oldest son got his driver's permit recently. This was the card that I made him as a congratulations. he got a great kick out of it. He was the first person that was allowed to go with us after my #2 son got his permit. It was a learning experience for all of us :). I wanted to do the tree embossed but it was one of those lovely days when our electricity was out for a few hours and I was limited in my creating time. Ijust had to use some of the new colors, since I just received them at the time I had made this card. I sooo appreciate that we can get the markers in the In Colors now!!!!

Happy Thoughts

I decided to take some time (no band today, so I got to stay home!) and do a Sketch Challenge. I've been trying to use more of the designer paper and not be a hoarder. I am so stuck on these colors so my next challenge to myself will be to not use the Earth Elements. I am so loving the Texture plates and had to put the other group on my workshop order yesterday. They are so easy to use and add so much dimension to a card. The Image and sentiment I did with the markers. The sentiment is popped up on a glue dot.

Stamps: Lovely as a Tree, Think Happy Thoughts
Paper: Chocolate Chip, Old Olive, Old Olive Print Patterns, Whisper White
Ink: Chocolate Chip, Old Olive
Accessories: Ticket Corner Punch, Big Shot, Harlequin Texture Plate,

Yard Film Strip

This card is a full size card. It is made from a full size piece of cardstock folded in half. For those who do not know I make the Thank You cards for those who come and speak to our Home School group. We had a falconer come and showed the kids his Red Tail Hawk and told us how he hunts with her. They love to spend time in the woods so I thought this set would fit right in. I stamped the back with the Sanded Background and sponged around the edges. The images are colored with the markers directly on the stamps. I also sponged around the edges of the images.

Stamps: Lovely as a Tree, Think Happy Thoughts, Sanded Background
Paper: More Mustard, Basic Black, Whisper White, Always Artichoke
Ink: Chocolate Chip, Always Artichoke, More Mustard,
Accessories: Spiral Punch, Jumbo Eyelets, 1' & 1-1/4"Circle Punches

Thanks So Much

It seems like my time frame to stamp right now is once a week. I guess that is better than never. My Big Shot texture plates came in today and I made sure my chores were done this morning so I could play this afternoon. They are even better than I had thought they would be and soooo easy to use. I love the look of dry embossing but hate the work, this is the answer to that. I get the look with just a few cranks of the handle. I needed to make some Thank You cards, so I just had to use these plates. To do the leaf and the tree I first stamped the stamp in the Mellow Moss pad and then used the markers to accent.

Stamps: Lovely as as Tree, Think Happy Thoughts
Paper: Apricot Appeal, Very Vanilla, Mellow Moss, Always Artichoke, Chocolate Chip
Ink: Basic Brown, Mellow Moss, Always Artichoke
Accessories: Ticket Corner Punch, 1 1/4" Circle Punch, 1 3/8" Circle Punch, Backgrounds 1 Texturz Plate-Harlequin, Chocolate Chip 1" Double Stitched Grosgrain Ribbon

Get Well Dena

This card was made for my sister. She was diagnosed with thyroid cancer yesterday. They removed a 4cm cyst from her thyroid last Thursday. The doctor also removed a small nodule while he was in there. The cancer was in the small nodule. She goes back into surgery on Thursday to have the rest of her thyroid removed. God is in control!!!!

This is a full sized card, one full 8.5 x 11 folded. I wanted to make it big and fill it with love. I tried to use the Color Combo Challenge today but added Chocolate Chip so I did not stay with in the complete realm of things.

I colored the tree with the markers and tapped the tree with the Pretty in Pink and Riding Hood Red.

Stamps: Watercolor Vine Jumbo Wheel, Lovely as a Tree, Think Happy Thoughts
Paper: Kiwi Kiss, Chocolate Chip, Riding Hood Red, Pretty in Pink, Very Vanilla
Ink: Chocolate Chip, Kiwi Kiss, Riding Hood Red, Pretty in Pink

Fall Leaves

Well, today's Limited Supplies Challenge was to use leaves. Since I live on 9 acres or woods with the leaves turning beautiful colors this was a great inspiration for me. Today it is cold, dark and raining so it is not so pretty outside. One of the extra things for the month of October is to add pink. I struggled with adding the Cameo Coral, but I think it worked....I will stop using the top note at some point. I still had it out for my stamp night last night so it worked great today. The leaves and trees were stamped with Basic Brown and colored with re-inkers and Aqua painters. They are adhered with glue dots. I sponged Chocolate Chip around most of the edges and then spritz with the spritzer.

Stamps: Lovely as a Tree, Autumn Harvest
Paper: Sahara Sand, Cameo Coral, Very Vanilla
Ink: Summer Sun, Cameo Coral, Bordering Blue, Basic Brown, Pumpkin Pie, Always Artichoke
Accessories: Spritzer, Top Note, Big Shot, 1" Double Stitched Grosgrain Ribbon-Chocolate Chip, 1/4" Grosgrain Ribbon - Always Artichoke

Harvest

This was for the Try a New Technique Challenge. I had never tried an accordion card before. I thought this would be fun. This card took me forever to finish. Of course this is not even the idea I had when I started. I was going to do something with my die cut bird. So it just kept building and building. It was hard to get a good angle. The camera just cannot see what the eye can...

Now I need to figure out where this card is going. I have been trying to only make things that have a destination. I have soooo many cards yet to send and am so far behind. I suppose it would be good to send to someone in the family we will not get to spend Thanksgiving with or as a Thank you to a family who shares quite a bit of their garden harvest with us.

Fall Sky

Well, busy-ness worked to my advantage today! I had planned on getting up and making this card for someone for their birthday this week. This is one of their favorite sets and the trees outside are looking wonderful so I had this all planned. So something came up this morning that pushed my stamp time back until after lunch which was perfect because in that time UPS came with my Top Note Die for my Big Shot. I think it made this card so much easier. I used my brayer for the sky and grass. I did a lot of sponging to get more colors where I wanted. I also used the aqua pens (on sale starting Wednesday) to accent the grass line under the trees. Off to unpack my new toys and start planning my Christmas Cards....

Paper: Chocolate Chip, Tangerine Tango, Whisper White, Kiwi Kiss

Fall Colors

So today with the color challenge she threw four colors at us instead of the usual 3. The colors today were: Mellow Moss, Cameo Coral, Apricot Appeal, and Creamy Caramel. As I was scanning my stamps trying to figure out what I was going to use my eyes stopped at my poor Lovely as a Tree sitting at the bottom of a stack. If it was on the bottom it means it has not been used in a very ling time. I thought it would be perfect for this color challenge. I colored the stamp with the markers to get it to be various colors. I then used my Aqua pen and re-inkers to add a little more color to the tree trunk. I struggled with what to do along the bottom as it just needed something. I decided just to put the sentiment and use the scorer to accent it. I added more eyelets within the HB bracket. A few more layers than I usually do but I figured they were necessary to pull this together. The Tree panel is popped up on Dimensionals.

Stamps: Weathered Background, Lovely as a Tree, It's Your Birthday
Paper: Mellow Moss, Cameo Coral, Apricot Appeal, Creamy Caramel, Very Vanilla
Ink: Mellow Moss, Cameo Coral, Apricot Appeal, Creamy Caramel,

5 Circle Sketch

Boy was this a fun sketch. This was done for the Sketch Challenge on SCS. I did not want the circles perfect so I offset the 2 outside ones. The background ones blended in too much so I pierced around them. I so badly wanted to use my Groovy Guava since I got my new catalog yesterday and that was the color of the cover. I'm am going to be soooo broke. I just keep telling myself to pace myself. Well, this is going to be short! I have lots of gifts and orders to finish by the weekend so I better get to work. I had a request for a tutorial on the glass etching. I took pictures as I made one this morning and will hopefully get it posted tomorrow night.

Stamps: Dotted Background, Weathered Background, Lovely as a Tree, All in a Row, Short and Sweet
Paper: Blue Bayou, Soft Sky, Groovy Guava, Whisper White

Embossed Trees

This card was made for today's Sketch challenge. These challenges are a great way to make you think further. I think they have really helped me come up with layouts I would of never thought of myself. I'm still trying to use more of the wide grosgrain so that helped me decide what colors I wanted to use. I cut it all out first, besides the tab. After I decided my colors I thought this had to be a guy's card. Then I found a set that would match the sketch and went from there. The trees and HB are embossed and the HB is on a pop up glue dot. I used the spritzer and Bravo Burgundy marker to speckle the background

Stamps: Weathered Background, Party Punch Hostess Set, Lovely Like a Tree
Paper: Bravo Burgundy, Chocolate Chip, Always Artichoke
Ink: Chocolate Chip Craft and Classic, Burgundy marker
Accessories: Spritzer, Bravo Burgundy Wide Grosgrain, Twine, Burgundy Button, Clear Embossing Powder, Cutter kit on edges, 1 3/8" Circle Punch, Designer Label Punch

Cowboy in the Woods

Ok, I just had to do one more today. I've had this idea for a while and finally had the time to do it today. Since a lot of my trees are pine trees (as you can see in the photo). I actually built my house around a certain Pine tree in the yard. I tried to do the sky in fall colors. I sponged the sun through a punched out 1" circle. I then masked the sun and did Soft Sky with a little of Cameo Coral. I sponge a little Blue Bayou around the edge. I originally made this to go in the Fall Theme Challenge. Just as I was going to upload I got an e-mail that a new submission had been loaded to the Clearly Fun Challenge. That challenge was to use a transparency, so it fit that one too!!!

Stamps: Bronc Buster, Lovely as a Tree
Paper: Old Olive, Whisper White
Ink: Summer Sun, Cameo Coral, Soft Sky, Blue Bayou, Garden Green, Chocolate Chip, Old Olive, Black Stazon
Accessories: Pewter Brads, Window Sheet

Fall Leaves

Today's Challenge on SCS was the Way to Use It Challenge to do a Halloween card. Since I do not have anything halloween we had the option to do a fall card. For those who know me, they know I love it hot. I wish I could still have the heat with the fall colors. I live in the woods and love just driving down my driveway watching the trees turn colors day by day. Isn't is fascinating how God placed the trees just in the right places so the colors are so enjoyable. If fall colors do not show our Great Creator I do not know what does. What if He would of placed all the yellow tress together...not so pretty! The leaves are curled up on the card. I wanted to do the Polished Stone Technique again. This card seems to be missing something (Maybe the sanded background, LOL!). Have a great day and stamp something today!!
Stamps: Aida Cloth, Lovely as a Tree
Paper: Glossy White, Pumpkin Pie, Ruby Red, Old Olive, Very Vanilla
Ink: Re-inkers: Ruby Red, Pumpkin Pie, Gold Encore /Basic Brown, Timber Brown Stazon
