Photography Thank You

I asked a gentleman I know if he could come in to our Home-School classes (we meet once a month for special group classes) and talk to our teens about photography. I was hoping I would learn something too :). So then I got the opportunity to make a Thank You card for him from the group and here is what I came up with. I was debating between anything with the filmstrip and the punch cameras so I decided to merge them both and put the punch camera in the filmstrip. I needed to add the stars so it looks like the flashes were going off. I sponged around the whole front of the card and around each of the white boxes on the filmstrip. I used the crop-a-dile to punch the hole in the center of the smaller circle. This was a fun card to make and I know he will enjoy it!
Stamps: Medallion Background, Teeny Tiny Wishes, Define Your Life,
Paper: Basic Gray, Basic Black, Whisper White, Crushed Curry
Ink: Basic Gray,
Accessories: Punches- Spiral, Large Oval, Small Oval, Designer Label, 1" Circle, 3/4" Circle, Crop-a-Dial, Horizontal Slot, My Way, Small Star

Thinking of You

So yesterday I got my workshop order in. I ordered a couple of sets that I have wanted. I thought this one would do some great simple cards. I saw a card that used the Define your Life set with it. I just had to have that set but do not use it as much as I thought I would. I think it will be great paired with Take Three. This was for the Limited Use Challenge today. The challenge was to use brads. The extra touch was that the brads had to be the only embellishment used and had to be used within the image. I thought they would go great as flower centers. The hardest part was to pick out what colors I wanted to use. Can you tell I am an Earth Tone kind-of-girl? I did the background dots with the piercing template from the mat pack and the Stylus. I got the idea from Diane. What a fabulous idea, and so easy! I stamped the image in the Groovy Guava and then went over what I wanted to change with the Really Rust marker. I also sponged around the edge of the background with Groovy Guava.

Stamps: Stitched, Take Three, Define Your Life
Paper: Chocolate Chip, Groovy Guava, Really Rust, Very Vanilla
Ink: Groovy Guava, Really Rust, Chocolate Chip
Accessories: More Mustard and Ruby Red Brads, Sylus and Mat Pack for dry Embossing

Wishing Tag

I'm still trying to work on more Kid's cards. Today's color challenge just happens to be colors I could use to do that too! The colors today are Real Red, Tempting Turquoise, and So Saffron. The tag is done by putting versamark all over the card stock and a layer of silver embossing powder. I then add another layer. I have the set I want to impress already with versamark ink on it. I keep the gun on the embossing powder to keep it wet and press the stamp in until it cools, just a matter of seconds. I then remove and punched in the shape I wanted. The star and tag are popped up with pop up glue dots. The star was stamped in So Saffron and then I used markers to put color around the edges.

Stamps: Dotted BG, Star Studded Season, Define your life
Paper: Real Red, Tempting Turquoise,So Saffron, Whisper White
Ink: Real Red, Tempting Turquoise, So Saffron, Versamark
Accessories: Silver EP, Red Eyelets, Ticket Corner Punch, 5/8" Real Red Grosgrain, Key Tag Punch, Cutter Kit for distressing, Crop-a-dile, Silver Elastic Cord

Re-do card

Paper: Soft Sky, Blue Bayou textured and non, River Rock, Soft Sky Prints DSP

Wishing Star

Well today I did not use a challenge on SCS, shocker. I needed a specific kind of card and wanted to use some of the Pattern Print designer paper. I wanted to keep it simple too. So this is what I came up with. I made the brackets with the round tab punch. I started with the colors I wanted, made the layout, choose my stamps and went from there.
Stamps: Starstruck, Star Studded Season, Define Your Life
Paper: Old Olive, Certainly Celery and Rose Red Prints Designer Paper, Very Vanilla
Ink: Purely Pomegranate, Old Olive, Certainly Celery
Accessories: Round Tab Punch, Ticket Corner Punch

Celery Bronco

Sorry I have had company for the last few days. As much as I missed stamping and blogging I really enjoyed spending time with my mother. It is very rare that she can get a few days to come and spend. So I took as much time with her as I could.
My son needed a card for a friends birthday next week. So off to check out the challenges I missed so far this week. Today's sketch challenge grabbed me (as it usually does) and I had to go with that. I did not notice that I had grabbed the wrong ink until I posted. It does not look too far off, so it will stay. The words and star are in Always Artichoke and I had intended them to be Old Olive. I had made it fast and had to shoot and run, my 6th grader had to be at band. I used the Prints designer paper on page 173 and stamped the Sanded background on it. I think I should just leave that background on my desk and stop putting it away! I used the 5/8" Old Olive Grosgrain and put the 1/4" on each edge.

Stamps: Sanded Background, Bronc Buster, Define Your Life
Paper: Certainly Celery, Prints Designer Paper Celery, Old Olive, River Rock
Ink: Old Olive, River Rock, Always Artichoke, Old Olive
Accessories: Jumbo Eyelets, Hemp Twine, 5/8" Old Olive Grosgrain, 1/4" Certainly Celery Grosgrain, Crop-a-dile, Designer Label Punch, 1 3/8" Circle Punch

Cut Out Bronc

So today's Technique challenge on SCS was to do a cut out card. These are so fun to do. I love this new bronc set so just had to grab it again. The horse and words are embossed. The words I tapped off extra hard because I did not want a pure look. I wanted it to look a little roughed up.

Paper: Basic Black, Basic Gray
Ink: Craft- Basic Black and Whisper White, Classic-Basic Gray
Accessories: Gray Taffeta, Silver Brad, Coluzzle Oval, clear Embossing Powder, White Embossing powder
