Oval Birthday

Once again I saw this concept on another blog but I did not bookmark it so I cannot point you back to it.  If it is yours or if you know where it came from please let me know so that I may edit and give proper credit.  I do believe the original card is pink and brown.  I punched out various ovals and circles and adhered them to the card.  I then ran the whole base through the Big Shot with the Perfect Polka Dots Folder.

Card Details:
Stamps: Perfect Punches
Paper: Concord Crush, Chocolate Chip, Whisper White
Ink: Concord Crush
Accessories: Big Shot, Perfect Polka Dots Impressions Folder, Wide Oval Punch, Small Oval Punch, 3/4" Circle Punch, 1" Circle Punch, Mini Circle Punch, Pearls, Concord Crush Stitched Poly Ribbon

Favorite Mushrooms

This was a set that was at the top of my want list when the catalog came out.  I thought these little mushrooms were the cutest.  I stamped them twice, once in Soft Suede and once in Pacific Point.  I then cut out some of the elements in Soft Suede and mounted them on top on the Pacific Point ones.  The pearls between the mushrooms...were meant to be.  (I smudged a finger print and had to cover it up....)  If you can see I added a few pearls inside the background impression too.  The sentiment design just came together too.   I love the way it turned out so fun!  This poor image was stamped and matted weeks ago and tried on various cards and I just could not get it to fit, so it just went back on the shelf to wait...until I finally came up with a home I think it is very happy on.

Card Details:
Stamps: Funky Four, Teeny Tiny Wishes
Paper: Pacific Point, Soft Suede, Very Vanilla
Ink: Soft Suede, Pacific Point
Accessories:  Big Shot, Elegant Lines Impression Folder, Pearls, Victoria Crochet Trim Ribbon, Dotted Scallop Ribbon Border Punch, Small Oval Punch, Large Oval Punch, 3/4" Circle Punch

Get Well

This was the first card that I was happy about in a very long time.  I think I had lost my creative mojo with all that has been going on.  I am still on some pretty strong pain meds while I am typing this post ( I made the card awhile back and had my son take the picture this morning) so if I make any errors I can blame them on that ;-).  As I sit here in my recliner looking across my bedroom at my work area (I cannot wait to get enough energy to get over there!) I see a pattern.  I have used the same color scheme in all of the cards that I have made the 2 weeks I had between my surgeries.  I love the Blueberry Crisp DSP and the colors that it comes in are great!

For the background on the Top Note Die I cut the paper in strips and glued them on a piece of scrap paper. I then ran it through the Big Shot and trimmed off the outer edge.  I then mounted it on the Crumb Cake and ran it through the Big Shot again with the Vintage Wallpaper Impression folder. I sponged Crumb cake across the top. The Pacific Point card base was stamped in Crumb Cake with the Sanded Background.  I sponged the edges of everything with Crumb Cake.  I am also addicted to the pearls and someone has to stop me from adding them to every card I make :).

Card Details:
Stamps: Aviary, Teeny Tiny Wishes, Sanded Background
Paper: Pacific Point, Crumb Cake, Blueberry Crisp DSP, Very Vanilla
Ink: Early Espresso, Pacific Point,
Accessories: Big Shot, Top Note Die, Corner Rounder Punch, Vintage Wallpaper Impression Folder, Victoria Crochet Trim Ribbon, Wide Oval Punch, Decorative Label Punch, Word Window Punch, Modern Label Punch, Basic Pearls

Owl Hello

It was a very hard to decide what to use this morning.  My first real order from the catalog came in on Monday and I am re-modeling a bedroom into a laundry room so my time is not spent stamping right now and I feel guilty doing anything else.  Well, this morning between running my son to driver's training and picking him up before lunch and then off to a doctor's appointment I had a few to sit down and play (after all I could not do any sanding since I was already dressed for the doctor appointment). :)  I took a look at the Sketch challenge and this card just fell in to place.  It was probably the easiest concept card I have made in a very long time. The biggest challenge was to decide what of my new order was going to be used.  Since I am trying to hold the budget tighter and I tend to buy a lot of Designer paper (and not use it) I only allowed myself to buy one pack of paper this time so that really helped with the color scheme.  I knew the second I saw the sketch that I wanted to use the owl punch and they fit perfect in the concept.  I did do quite a bit of sponging.  I think the only thing I dd not sponge was the white of the owl's eyes.  I am so glad I bought some of the pretty new ribbon. I just love this Victoria ribbon!! and should I use the pearl halves or the rhinestones....I went with the pearls since they seemed to match my color scheme more.  I did stamp off the light flower on the jewelry tag punch to lighten it.  I popped up the middle owl with a Dimensional.

Card Details:
Stamps: Sanded Background, Tiny Tags
Paper: Marina Mist, pacific Point, Whisper White, Crumb Cake, Basic Black, Cherry Cobbler, Blueberry Crisp Designer Paper, Sahara Sand
Ink: Pacific Point, Crumb Cake, Cherry Cobbler, Marina Mist
Accessories: Two Step Owl Punch, Jewelry Tag Punch, Pearl Half, Victoria Crochet Ribbon
