Autumn Birthday

I am sure in a fall color mood and I am sure that very soon the trees around me will start to change to match my favorite color scheme.  My son was in the need of a birthday card for one of his friends.  I made one yesterday (which is scheduled to post at a later date) with the Need for Speed set and he said " Mom, he is turning 11 not 7"...so off to the creative design thought process once again.  Thankfully I had the sketch challenge to day to fall back on and it worked out great!  I realized that besides the colors I really went out of my realm.  There is no big shot or sponging on any of the card.  His friend's family are big hunters so he picked out the set and I would not let him know anything I was doing until it was done....it met the approval of my soon to be (next week) 12 yr old son!

Razzleberry Wheat

So today is another day where the sun just decided not to shine. I tried so many different places to get this picture and no luck with lighting..I just love how these colors turned out together. I do not have much time today so I kept this very simple as I have not had much completed to post this week. I did cut the segments first and then held down to my scratch paper with temporary adhesive while I stamped. They do line up but it must be the way I took the picture (holding on to it until before I snapped the picture so that it did not blow away..) I did stamp and sponge the background with Sanded before I ran it through the texture plate in the Big Shot.

Man's Birthday

I needed a man's birthday card for my next stamp night. I love this set for making masculine cards. I wanted to use the grommets and thought they would go great with the build-a-brads. I sponged around the edges of the Soft Suede card base and the Crushed Curry card front. I love the mini clips and how cute the are with the tag punches. I stamped the wheat in Crushed Curry and went over the parts I wanted with the Soft Suede marker. I did the same with the Happy Birthday...have I said how much I love having the markers in the In Colors!

Summer Tango

Today I actually took the time to do a Color Challenge. Of course I had to use one of my sets from the new catalog. I did the sun by punching out a 1" circle from scratch paper and using the hole to sponge in some color. I sponged the Pacific Point just around the sides and top of the image sheet. I did sponge around the whole card base with the Tangerine Tango I stamped the pheasant first and then masked it to put the wheat in the background. I so wanted to use the buttons since those colors will retire next week and I once again was hoarding them...
