Kleenex Box template

I'm not sure if I did this right or not, but here is the template I used for the kleenex box in this card. The measurements for the front box is 1 3/4" x 2". I do not know how to make it actual size here, sorry. I just drew a cube and cut out the outside form. I then drew the lines on the Designer paper. If you have any questions feel free to e-mail me (located under my profile)!

Get Well

Wow, I actually got a full week of stamping in this week (and my house is clean and family fed) So today's challenge was to make a Get Well card with no flowers. Great, I can always use cards that can go to guys too. I have done this kleenex box a few years ago but had forgotten about it until I read this challenge. I thankfully still had the template I made back then tucked away. The box is one piece with the lines drawn to give dimension. I punched a hole in the top to pop the kleenex through. The words are embossed. Since there are no craft inks for the In Colors I stamped in River Rock and then used my Stamp-a-ma-jig to line up and stamp again in Versamark. It looked so plain and needed something else so I added the row of piercing on the bottom and corners.
Stamps: Print Pattern Background, Sincere Salutations
Paper: River Rock, Palette O'Print,
Ink: River Rock, VersaMark, So Saffron Marker for boxing Kleenex box
Accessories: Tool Kit for Piercing, Twill tape, Antique Brads, Kleenex, Key tag Punch

Scalloped Motifs

So are you sick of this set yet? I love it!! I also cannot stop using the new In colors. I only ordered the assorted pack but I have almost used them up already. I will have to place another order soon as I do not think I can go with out them. Today's challenge on SCS was to use scallops in any way on your card. I have done this once before and liked it so I decided to try it again. SU will be coming out with a circle oval punch next week, but these can be made with the slit punch.
Stamps: Baroque Motifs
Paper: Wild Wasabi, River Rock, Groovy Guava, Purely Pomegranate
Ink: Wild Wasabi, River Rock, Groovy Guava, Purely Pomegranate
Accessories: Slit Punch, Cream Grosgrain

Wednesday's Cards

Wow, today I actually got 2 cards done for 2 challenges before lunch!

This was for the sketch challenge. All of the pumpkin ink is craft ink and is embossed with clear embossing powder. I punched the tab punch and edged it with a sliver from the pumpkin by just punches the edge. These wings on the dragon fly just cry out for some glitter from me. We have a lot of dragon flies in our yard and I love how the sun just sparkles off the wings. I used the versamarker to highlight the wings and put iridescent ice embossing power on them. I cut dimensionals in half and added half to each wing to make it pop-up!
Stamps: Bugs and Kisses, Every Day Flexible Phrases
Paper: Pumpkin Pie, Apricot Appeal
Ink: Pumpkin Craft Ink, Apricot Appeal, Versamarker
Accessories: Ticket Corner Punch, Apricot Ribbon, Round Tab Punch, Clear EP, Iridescent Ice EP, Dimensionals

This was for a demo challenge to do the Baby wipe technique. I have always wanted to give this a try and finally took this push to try it. The hardest part was to find a box of baby wipes that was not dried up. My youngest is now five, so they are not used much around here. I do not have much left for solid stamps but thought of the leaves turning colors so I went with that idea. It was a lot easier than I have thought it would be and I love the result I got from it!
Stamps: Lovely as a Tree, Hugs and Wishes
Paper: Re-inkers-Really Rust, Ruby Red, Old Olive
Ink: Really Rust, Ruby Red, Old Olive, Black Stazon
Accessories: Tool Kit for Piercing, Tag Corner Punch, Baby Wipe
Techniques: Baby Wipe

Cut Flowers

Well, you all know I love doing the challenges on SCS. So far this week it has not worked for me. Yesterday's challenge was to get out an retired set and use it before they are gone. The new catalog comes out on Sunday. Well, since I spent Saturday pulling cleaning and packing up all of my retired stuff to sell next week, I was not going to "break" anything out. Today's color challenge was also to use the retiring In Colors one more time before retirement. They are already packed up for their new owners. As much as I would love to keep them and use them forever. I NEED to be able to buy some of the new product. In order for me to be able to afford that I have to sell the retired.

So today I had a technique in mind that I have not done in a long while. I grabbed a set from the almost bare shelves and some of the new In Colors. I knew I wanted to use the crimper (something I forget to grab that adds some zip!). I wanted some sparkle too. I used dimensional to give some depth. So here is the card I came up with.
Stamps: Blossoms Abound, Holidays & Wishes, Itty Bitty Background
Paper: Purely Pomegranate, Groovy Guava, Whisper White
Ink: Purely Pomegranate, Groovy Guava. Wild Wasabi, Certainly Celery, Versamark
Accessories: Crimper, Iridescent Ice Embossing Powder, Coluzzle Oval, Dimensionals

Mono Giraffe

I sooo needed to stamp today. It has been so long. I sorted through and pulled all my retiring stock on Saturday which does not leave me much to work with. I cannot wait to get my hands on the new catalog! It should arrive in the next couple of days, today would be great! Since I have about 5 friends expecting babies right now, I thought I better get a baby card done. A challenge in the demo forum was to only use one color. I tried grabbing a color out of the Palette O' Prints that I do not usually go for.
Stamps: Dotted Background, Holidays and Wishes, Wild About You
Paper: Almost Amethyst, Palette O' Prints
Ink: Almost Amethyst
Accessories: Tool Kit for Piercing, White Gel Pen, Slit Punch for scallops

Bleached Motifs

Well, after cleaning the house from top to bottom, I decided why put the bleach away. I love using bleach as an ink. You just have to remember to clean them and use the stampin' mist conditioner after so the rubber does not dry out. I've been using bleach for years and have not had one problem yet. I so wanted to stamp today and I love the challenges. I told myself "Use any set but Motifs!" Well, we see how well that worked....

Stamps: Baroque Motifs
Paper: Creamy Caramel, Barley Banana, Real Red

Dragon Fly

I just had to stamp today! The challenge for today was a technique challenge. We were suppose to keep it simple for an easy and quick Needs a lift card. I used my stamp-a-ma-jig to put the "bugs and kisses" so the (!) ended up right on the bell of the flower. I had to add sparkle to the wings so I used my Heat and Stick powder and Dazzling Diamonds. I wanted the eyes to "pop" so I added Crystal effect to the eyes. The corner needed something so I punched and folded over.

Stamps: Baroque Motifs, Bugs and Kisses
Paper: Whisper White, Wild Wasabi
Ink: Wild Wasabi, Groovey Guava
Accessories: Stair Steps corner punch, Heat and stick Powder, Dazzling Diamond, Crystal Effects

Another Baroque Motifs

I know I am going to USE this set! Loving these new In Colors too! This was for a keep it simple challenge. Since I was suppose to keep it simple I stopped, but I think the design and words on the Palette O'Print would look great clear embossed over. I tried to dye the ribbon with the re-inkers but I just could not get it dark enough to match the CS. I may of diluted with too much water.
Stamps: Baroque Motifs
Paper: Purely Pomegranate, Whisper White, Palette O'Print
Ink: Purely Pomegranate, White Craft
Accessories: White Grosgrain Ribbon, pomegranate re-inker, Ticket Corner Punch. Tool kit for piercing

Photo Tile

So I did not get to do the sketch challenge like I said I wanted. I will get to that yet this week! I wanted to try the technique in the SCS newsletter. Photo Tiles. It did not photograph very well. It turned out much nicer IRL (in real life). My daughter has laid claim on this one for her room.
Stamps: Baroque Motifs
Ink: Stazon-Olive and Timber
Accessories: Mod Podge, Tumbled Tile
Paper: Tissue paper

Another Birthday RAK

Oh, Yesterday I received anothe Birthday RAK from Deb Albright. She belongs to the Bloggers RAK on SCS too. Check out her blog! The card is beautiful with the polished stone technique and I love that she included a matching decorated envelope. She put it in a clear envelope so I can re-use it if I wish, very thoughtful. Thank you Deb!!

I haven't had a chance to stamp today yet. Still trying to get my desk cleaned off. It tends to be the "catch all". Off to finish and hopefully create today. The sketch in the sketch challenge is wonderful!

Grout Free Tile

Ok, I will leave to the tile laying to the men in my family. I just could not get it straight. This is a combined challenge from yesterday's Technique Challenge and today's Color Challenge. It was fun to use my pre-view sets. I love the new rhinestone brads SU will be releasing in July! The white is stamped then covered with versamark and clear embossing. Then cut into 1" squares and placed on the card. The center designed is also embossed but not covered.

Birthday cards

Ok, I am going to try and stamp every day this week! My pre-order from the new '07 SU catalog is out for delivery to be here between 12-2. I cannot wait. I did not get to order much as the budget is limited right now. I did manage to put some money away from some card sales and my birthday money. Speaking of my birthday, as long as I am waiting on my new stamps and colors I thought I would share some of the handmade cards I received.

This one is from my once liked sister. She just had to rub my new age in. She called me the night before because she thought I would be too old to be able to get the phone on Sunday. You should see the e-card she sent me! Just wait Dena...2 more years (and 20 days)! I love the bookmark her daughter Amber made me. It was put on very nice, but I had to remove it right away to use it in the book I am reading. "Warning Sidetrack"~ I am reading The Asperger's Answer book. My youngest son was diagnosed last summer with it. Boy is this book educating me on how he thinks. I checked it out of the library last week and had to go to Amazon and order 4 copies. One for me to keep, one for my parents, and two to lend out. Education is important! If you are interested in reading it Here is where I found it. If you are a family member or local friend they will be available for you to borrow, just ask!

This card came from the RAK (random act of Kindness) group on Splitcoaststampers. It was made by Patty (AKA Stamping Bug)

This card also came for the Splitcoaststampers RAK. I love the colors Michelle5 used. Thank you Michelle! Check out Michelle's Blog!

This card was from the Splitcoaststampers blog RAK. It is hard to see but Nancy stamped paisley on the white background in what I think in Barely Banana. Thank you Nancy! You can see her blog here, check it out!

This was made by my friend Beth. Didn't she do a great job? Beth, you need to make more cards!

Thank you all for thinking of me on my big 40! It meant a lot to me.

Tye Dyed Flowers

Today was the color challenge on SCS. The colors were Certainly Celery, Eggplant Envy and Ruby Red. I used the Shaving Cream technique to do the back ground. Instructions can be found on SCS in the Resource Section. I just got the Wild About You set and really wanted to use it but I just could not get the colors to fit with any of the animals. So I used the flowers. I'm so glad they fit the oval punch! The background got a little busy and I needed something simple to calm it down.

Paper: Eggplant Envy, Certainly Celery, Whisper White, Ruby Red
Ink: Eggplant Envy, Ruby Red
Accessories: Celery Grosgrain, Black brads, large and small oval punches, slit punch
