Thanksgiving Turkey

Today's Limited Use Challenge was to disguise a stamp or use it for something other than it was intended. So I took my petal stamp and used it as feathers for my colorful turkey. Doesn't he look sad? I think next week I will have to challenge myself to stay away from the Earth Elements family and maybe go at least one layer without sponging....don't think I will make it. Well, this was a fun card to do and I am looking forward to sending it to the party I made it for. I have so many family members and can only be one place for Thanksgiving. Oh and I did manage to use Cameo Coral (pink) in one of the feathers!!

Have a Great Weekend!!

Ladybug Petal

Wow, do we have a lot of July birthdays. This is for one of my nieces whose birthday is this week. Yes, I finally broke down and cut out a petal. I sure did get a long way before I did that and it wasn't that painful :) . I do need some work on the making of the ladybug.

Smyles Petal

Again, not my idea, I just loved it and had to do these eyelashes. My son has a friend turning 13 last week, so this was for him. He is a great kid and his name is Myles. When he was little his nick name was Smyles because he always had this smirk on his face. So this face fit him perfect. On this one I did dry emboss his nose and love the way it turned out. The eyelashes were made by cutting one side off from the grosgrain ribbon and pulling the excess off. Again sorry for the blurry picture it went in the mail before I took the time to check and post the picture.

Butterfly Petal

This is another birthday card I had to make for the month of July. There is no way I am going to get sick of this set. There is so much you can do with it. I love sets that can be use in a wide array of ways. It is suppose to be a flower set but can be used to make girly or manly cards. I love it and should of bought it when it first came out! The one reason I did not get it was because I did not want to cut it out to make it work. So far I have avoided it. I've added the dimension with the brass template. Sorry, the full picture is so blurry. I took the picture and dropped it straight in the mail so it would arrive on time. I did quite a bit of dry embossing on this. It may be hard to see but I also embossed the small flowers on a few of the dots on the butterfly's wings.

Paper: Whisper White, Perfect Plum, Pale Plum
Ink: Perfect Plum, Pale Plum

Get Well

I just could not pass up making this guy. I think this one is on my list for my next stamp night. I had a friend break one of her toes last week during Bible school so this was made for her. I hope you are feeling better Michele! I used the new In Colors on this card too. I did not dry emboss his nose, but that would be cute too.

Exclamation Mark

Ok, here are some thank you cards. I got a little behind and now I have even more to make. Thankfully these are quick and easy to mass produce. I just had to use the new scallop edge punch on the one, how fun! The Pick a Petals Brass template also has a piercing template. My light box, which was always tucked away, is now relocated to within quick reach. :)
The pink card I used a couple of the new In Colors:

Stamps: Pick a Petal, Wonderful Words, Spunky Spots Jumbo Wheel
Paper: Red Riding Hood, Pink Pirouette
Ink: Red Riding Hood
Accessories: Pick a Petal Brass Template
The Blue Card I used last years In Colors (Remember you can only order these for just about 3 more weeks):
Stamps: Pick a Petal, Wonderful Words, Daisy Dash Jumbo Wheel
Paper: Blue Bayou, Soft Sky
Ink: Blue Bayou
Accessories: Pick a Petal Brass Template, Blue Bayou Double Stitched Ribbon

Birthday Candles

Well, yesterday I had some time and energy to play with some of my new stuff. So I decided to case (copy and steal everything) a bunch of great cards I have seen that used this set. I used some reward points I have earned over the year to get the Pick a Petal set and the Pick a Petal Brass template. I will try to post a few this week while my schedule starts to pick up again. I did the rock and roll technique on the flames and used the marker to draw the wick. I used the brass template to make the wick "pop". I wanted dimension but did not want to cut and this did just that.
