Top Hive

I actually did this card for a sketch challenge awhile back but never posted it and forgot what sketch it was for. Cutting that bee out was more work than anything else on the whole card. The section that the hive is on is a sliver from the Top Note Die. I did do some sponging around certain edges.

Stamps: Just Buzzin' By
Paper: Baja Breeze, Chocolate Chip, Garden Green, Very Vanilla
Ink: Garden Green, Baja Breeze, More Mustard

Buzzin' By

This card took me forever to get to work the way I wanted it to. I knew the colors I wanted but could not get them to go together right. IF it had gone together faster I would of added a few extra things. I would of done some sponging and piercing. I have some of the Big Shot Texture plates coming in from an exchange and I think one of them would of worked great, especially on the small Tangerine layer. For now it works for the time I had and the materials I had to work with. I may have to re-play this one later on through just to see. :)

Oval Punch Vases

This weeks schedule is jam packed full so if I miss a day or two along the way please forgive me! My dear husband is healing well and therapy seems be be going ok. I am finally am getting to be able to do other things than care for him. One thing I got behind on was thank you cards. So here is one that will go out this week!

I saw this idea on someone else's blog. I saved the picture thinking it would have their name on it to give credit to but when I finally got to make it I found it had no name on it. So if you are the originator (or know who is) please let me know so I can give proper credit!

The vases are made with the oval punch. I cut a curve in the top and a flat bottom. I spritzed the vase with co-ordinating colors (since we do not have In Color markers). I then sponged the edges (of course ;) ). I used my Aqua-painter and Going Grey ink to make a shadow under the vases. I used various punches to make the flowers and the basic black marker to draw the stems.

Stamps: Heard From the Heart
Paper: Pacific Point, Kiwi Kiss, Tangerine Tango, Riding Hood Red, Whisper White
Ink: Real Red, Only Orange, Always Artichoke. Brilliant Blue, Pacific Point, Going Grey, Basic Black Marker
Accessories: Large Oval Punch, Spritzer, Boho Blossom Punch, 1/4" Circle Punch, Double Circle Punch, Aqua Painter. Riding hood Red Striped Grosgrain Ribbon

Get Well Monkey

So today I needed to make a Get Well card for a young lady who had surgery on her ankle. She is not a "girly girl" so I thought the Sock Monkey would be a good choice of sets. I decided to make a cast for the little monkey's leg. I just cut out the leg like usual and traced it just a smidge bigger. I drew lines on it and sponged around the edge of the cast. I of course had to use the Big shot and the Naturally Serif Alphabet Die to make the Get Well.

Stamps: Sock Monkey, Twill Background
Paper: Riding Hood Red, Chocolate Chip, Kiwi Kiss, Very Vanilla, Sahara Sand
Ink: Choloate Chip, Riding Hood Red, Basic Gray
Accessories:Big Shot, Naturally Serif Alphabet Die, Photo Corner Punch, 1" Chocolate Chip Double Stitch Grosgrain, Kiwi Kiss Satin Ribbon

Friends Picture Frame

What a freaky coincidence! Yesterday my daughter had a small birthday party, just a few friends over. I took their picture right away and printed them out. One of the projects I had planned for them was to decorate their own frames. I bought the 8x8 frames at the dollar tree. I gave them the mat and let them decorate them how they wanted to. I saved my daughters because I wanted to do hers up special for her. While they were playing some games I put them in frames and added the pictures. It was one of the gifts they took home with them. So today I wake up and what is the Ways to use it challenge?!?!...to use a picture. So I got to finish her frame today. The bottom corner rub on is done on the glass, but the Forever and ever is on the paper. I love it and plan on doing this every year with the girls. They had a lot of fun and their moms loved the idea. Tomorrow I will show you another project I did with the girls....

Fresh Cut Notes

In case you do not know this is the special for the month of June. This set is a preview from the upcoming catalog. It will be released in August. You can:
  • Buy the Fresh Cut stamp set and get the Fresh-Cut Notes for just $5 (limit one Fresh-Cut Notes at $5).
  • Buy just the stamp set for: $21.95.
  • Buy just the Fresh-Cut Notes for $8.95.
The note cards are 4"x4". The flower is laser cut by SU. I first stamped front and pushed out the petals. I then put a 3"x3" groovy guava cards stock on the inside, I put the Ruby Red 5 Petal Flower punched flower behind first. I then put the Groovy Guava Boho blossom and 1/4" circle punch on the front. These would be an adorable card to put in with a gift.

Shadow Box

Yes, I am still living. Life just got way too busy and something had to give. Things are still busy but I have a stamp night coming up and a day I got to actually stay home (until soccer) so I decided I should actually make one of the cards that I sketched out while I was sitting a play practice. Our Home Educators graduation/program is next week, we finish school tomorrow, Soccer ends next week so life may just slow down a bit. It has been so long, I almost forgot how to blog (or stamp). I've lost my rhythm.... Well anyway...back to my card.

One of my customers requested we do a shadow box card. So this is the one I made up for that night. I cut 2 pieces of card stock 4.25" x 5.5" I scored each edges at .5" and 1". I then used my coluzzle to cut out the center circle. I stamped En Francias Background on the river rock in the background. I adhered the edges on with the red sticky tape. I put the dots around the edge of the scallop circle punch with the white gel pen. I cut out the center flower with my paper scissors and that is mounted on the background with a pop up glue dot. The pearl is from the Pretties kit and adhered with a mini glue dot. The flowers on the outside are punched out with the Boho Blossoms punch. I sponged around the edges with Soft Sky ink. I punched the corners with the rectangle punch and tied the stitched ribbon. How's it look Liz? :)

Stamps: En Francias Background, Baroque Motifs
Paper: River Rock, Soft Sky, Whisper White, Chocolate Chip
Ink: Soft Sky, River Rock, Chocolate Chip
Accessories: Coluzzle, Boho Blossom Punch, Scallop Circle Punch, Rectangle Punch, Pearl from the Pretties kit, Soft Sky Double Stitched Ribbon

Another Case

So today for the color challenge I grabbed the catalog again. I opened to page 108 and thought that the design there would go with the color challenge. The colors today were Chocolate Chip, Pretty in Pink and Certainly Celery. I went with the chocolate as the base so I could use the poly -twill again. I used the celery as the bottom as I know I had that in the print pattern paper. I used the cutter kit to get my wave. I do need to practice that but I only had one sheet left of the floral celery and I guess I had too much confidence in myself to get it right the first time... I'm still working on getting the rub-ons down but I know I will order them again! I sponged around the edges of the flowers and the celery paper with chocolate chip. I did not use any stamps for this card at all.

Stamps: none
Paper: Certainly Celery Prints DSP, Chocolate Chip, Pretty in Pink
Ink:Chocolate Chip to sponge around the edges
Accessories: Eastern Elegance Rub-Ons, Chocolate Poly-Twill Ribbon, Cutter Kit, Scallop Circle Punch, Boho Blossoms, 1 3/8" Circle Punch, 1/2" Circle Punch, half pearl from the pretties kit

Color Challenge

Boy, was the >Color Challenge today a doozee! The colors for today are Night of Navy, Real Red and Glorious Green. When I asked my kids what they thought of my card they all said it would be better if I had used different colors....Well, I think it turned out kind of Christmasy. We had some nice weather almost to the 70's. Now it is freezing cold again and suppose to snow today so I guess it fits. ;)

Stamps: Doodle This, Short & Sweet
Paper: Night of Navy, Real Red, Glorious Green, Whisper White

Cherish Sketch

So today is Sketch Challenge day. I tried to make this harder than it was. I would cut and take a break, stamp and take a break, re-do the flower and take a break. I do not know if I have a cold medicine hang-over but my brain seems to be in slow motion today. Well, at least I got some housework done between making the card.
Stamps: All in a Row, Baroque Motifs
Paper: Basic Black, Old Olive, Rose Red, Whisper White
Ink: Old Olive, Rose Red
Accessories: Fusion Flowers, Pretties Flower Kit, 5 Petal Flower Punch

Flower Fusion

I was so happy when I saw today's colors for the Color Challenge. I've wanted to use the Flower Fusions but keep forgetting them. I had a friend ask about them last night and that jogged my memory that I had put them on a shelf that was not always visible. So I took them out last night and put them on my desk with the plans on using them today. Wonderful that the colors match with the colors for today! I love the background stamps and just had to get the Twill. Depending on the color you use also depends on how obvious it is. I used it with Chocolate chip the other day and it was too bold for that card, but with the Pumpkin Pie I found it very subtle. I used all scraps today, so that helped decide my layout. Even the card base was a scrap.

Stamps: Celebrate Everything, Twill Background
Paper: Certainly Celery, Orchid Opulence, Pumpkin Pie
Ink: Pumpkin Pie, Certainly Celery
Accessories: Corner Rounder, Boho Blossom, 5 Petal Flower, Flower Fusion, Certainly Celery Wide Grosgrain, Fire Rhinestone Brads

Catalog Case 114

So today I decided just to open the catalog and Case (Copy and Steal Everything) the first card I saw. The catalog opened to page 114. Thankfully I had that set so I could be closer. I did change the colors and a few small elements. I do not have a lot of buttons so I replaced it with the build a brads. It is hard to tell but I used So Saffron Craft ink and stamps the flowers on the night of navy in the build a brad.
Stamps: All in a Row
Paper: Brocade Blue, Night of Navy, So Saffron, Cameo Coral
Ink: So Saffron Craft, Night of Navy, Cameo Coral
Accessories: Scallop Punch, 5 Petal Flower Punch, My Way Punch, 1/4" circle punch, Build a Brad, 1/2" Circle Punch, Apricot Appeal 1/4" Grosgrain Ribbon
