MDS Price Cut

With the popularity of MDS (My Digital Studio) being so high they were able to reduce the price.  You don't see that happening too often in today's market.  What a bargain it is at $19.95!!!! I thought it was a bargain at the $79.95 I paid for it a few years back and they have done some awesome upgrades since then. If you are still not sure if it is the digital scrap-booking program for you, don't forget you can try it free for 30 days. Can you get that offer from any program you buy in the store?...Plus if you buy it through me you can ask me any question, any time of the day and I will answer you as soon as I can.  If you are local we can set up classes.  I can also do on-line classes for those long distance customers.  This is a superb program and easy to use.

MDS Trading Cards

I love taking pictures and my husband bought me a great new camera for Christmas.  I have an addiction to my children so when they have a sporting event , I am there.  I think I have missed 3 events in the 27 years and 6 kids. I take about 200 pictures per game-what player does not like to see pictures of themselves so I try to take for all of the team and give CDs out at the end of the year.  For those you know me here, know that I love to play around with MDS.  I hate how much I have to pay to get these fun trading cards made for my kids so I decided to make them myself in MDS.  My kids are home-schooled and they play basketball for our church's school. (Bragging rights-They went 28-2 this year and placed first at state for the Wisconsin Association of Christian Schools class B).  My kids loved them so much I ended up taking orders and making them for both the JV and Varsity teams (only about 10 kids).  I was able to fit 6 cards on an 8x10 sheet.  I bought double sided photo paper, placed the cards all grouped in the center of the page and printed both sides.  It was such fun and a great and easy job in MDS!

Christmas Card MDS

For my Christmas pictures I want them to be able to fit them inside the card.  So I design them in the size of the envelope I will be using, in this case 4.25" x  5.5" .  I then bring them in to my photo editing program and put them on a 4" x 6" canvas.  That way I can send them to any printer to be printed on a 4"x6" sheet and I just cut off the 1/2" I leave white on the end. To make the background paper the way I wanted it I layered it and then made the top one more transparent so that the small flakes shown through.

Calypso Floral

I just recently bought this set and have been wanting to do the resist technique with it since I saw it.  I embossed the image with clear embossing powder.  Then I dabbed the colors I wanted where.  I wanted it a bit darker in the center so I used the marker to color that area in.  The ribbon is one of the free items in the SAB catalog.  You only have until March 22nd so make sure you order now to get all of the free SAB items that you want!!

Details:
Stamps: Blooming with Kindness, En Francias Background

Accessories: Clear Embossing Powder, Big Shot, Labels Collection Framelits, 1-1/4" Circle Punch, 1-3/8" Circle Punch, 1/4" Calypso Coral Ribbon

Fall Sympathy

This cards started out as a man's birthday card but when it was almost finished it looked more like a sympathy card.  That was just fine since that was another occasion that I had to check off of my "To Do"  list.  I am loving the Occasions Alphabet set, I do not know why I did not get it sooner!  To do the center part I punched out 2 squares on some printer paper and ran the brayer over it.  I also curled the edges of the scalloped oval punch to give more dimension.  It is also on Dimensionals to give it more of a pop. This card idea came from this card.

Details:
Stamps: French Foliage, Occasions Alphabet
Paper: Old Olive, Basic Black, Whisper White
Ink: Old Olive, Basic Black
Accessories: Large Oval Punch, Scallop Oval Punch, Big Shot, Stripes Impression Folder, 3/8" Basic Black Taffeta Ribbon

Merry Belated Christmas

I looked back and I see that I  forgot to post our 2012 Christmas card.  This is the only picture I could find of it.  This was my first design.  The only thing I ended up changing was the star.  I purchased the    Merry Minis Punch pack which had a small star in it.  I punched the Brushed Gold Card Stock to make the star and popped it up with a glue dot.  The layer is embossed on top of the words.Lots and lots of sponging. lol
