Get Better Butterfly

This butterfly is so versatile.  It can be colored or left black and white.  Here I decided to just eave it and cut out one of the wings.  I glued the edge near the body flat on and added a triple stack of dimensions to the outer edge.

You're the Star

This is also a CASE.  It was from a site with foreign language (I believe it was German) but I was in a hurry and did not save the site so I cannot remember where the idea came from.  It was a fun and quick card, which is where stamping fits in my life right now.  We are still in full school mode and now soccer season plus trying to get ready for graduation and all the fun full summer activities....Some times I just need to stop and make a card to burn off some creative juices.

Piano

I have wanted to do one of these piano cards for so long.  It was sooo much easier than I had anticipated.  I know I will be making new variations often and soon.  I have lots of friends who love music so this will be a great go to design.  The music and the white keys are one sheet of card stock.  I drew the lines for the white keys with my Basic Black marker but I think next time I will cut them and mount on Basic Black card stock.  The top of the piano I did hand cut...never very good at that.  The larger pearl I colored with a black sharpie marker. I just made very sure it was dry before putting it on the Whisper White card stock.

Aged Thank You

The last card I CASEd from Jenny Peterson  .  Again I used DSP instead of stamped Card Stock.  I used the brayer in Crumb Cake ink to "dirty" the DSP so it was not so bright.  I cut a slot under the Framelit and DSP layer to wrap the thread around.  The button is held on with a few glue dots.

Aged Doily

Ohhh, these are the colors that I love!  I was going through the catalog looking for any items I may have missed.  I can go through it over and over and over again and still find something new that I just have to have.  Anyway....I saw we sold Crumb Cake envelopes!  So why did I not have them in my stash?!?!?!  So I placed my order and had to set to it to make a bunch of cards to go in those envelopes....now I am going to have to place another order to get more Crumb Cake Card Stock. ;-)

As you can tell by looking, I am not a really big Whisper White user.  I tend to grab the Very Vanilla more than anything.  I love the Tea Lace Doilies, but they are white.   So I have a spritzer bottle all set with Rubbing Alcohol and Crumb Cake Re-inker.  I just give a spritz ( the darker I want it the more spritz or more re-inker drops.

The larger of the butterflies does have a Early Espresso butterfly glued flat to the card stock.  The shading is partly from that and how the sun hit it.  I also ran a very thin strip of Early Espresso under the Thinking of You just to make it stand out a bit more.  I have seen many cards lately that have random pearls and rhinestones put in places.  I decide to give it a try and it was a great space filler where I wanted it to be.

Bermuda Floral Doilies

I made a stack of Thank you cards for all of our Bible School workers last month.  Since I did not know the head count yet and I drove 5 hours for this VBS I did not put them all the way together until the night before the closing program.  That way if I had made too many I did not have a stack of VBS themed Thank you cards that I would never use again.  I only  had 3 extras and decided to fill in the blank part with the doilies, flowers and of course butterflies.  At first I was not drawn to the doilies but I had $3 of hostess dollars left on an order and decided to give them a try.  I think they will have to have a permanent spot in my work area!

Party Hats

I took advantage of the buy 3 get one free DSP.  I am not big on buying the DSP but I always wish I had more when I make a card.  So one of my things this year is to purchase and use more DSP.  I am always lacking cards that can be used for younger kids and the Birthday Basic DSP will get lots of use in that arena,

Serene Tape

This card contains 2 things I have wanted to try for a while. 1.) I used tape to do the stripes.  The card idea I saw it on she used painters tape, which I did not have, so I used some vinyl duct tape that I knew would peel right off of the Card Stock. I laid the tape sticky down across the ink pad and ran my finger over it.  I then laid it on the Card Stock and rubbed my finger across it again to transfer the ink.  2.) I corner cut my framelit card stock so the layering was not so wide.  The step up is just too big for my taste.  So I cut out 2 of the Wisteria Wonder, corner cut them and filled in the 4 rounded corners.  Once I ran it through the Big Shot with an Embossing Folder you can't even tell and I have more space to show off the DSP in the background .  I love these colors!!

Brown Sugar Best Wishes

I have always wanted to do the ink on the embossing folder and just have never gotten around to it...until today.  Since it was my first time, I was pretty messy but I have learned and will be doing it again.  I decided to just use a strip.  I added the embossed edges to the sides.

Dazzling Dress up

I have wanted this Dress Up Framelit for sooo long and finely broke down and added it to my last order. I hope I do not over use it so you get bored of it! Lol.   To make the jacket I just ran the sleeved dress through with only the top part on the paper.  I cut it down the center and trimmed a bit off of each edge.  For the dress I just wrapped the ribbon and fastened in the back.

Mr. Moose

Well, Monday was my birthday.  The only thing that could have made it better is if my SU order would have come in. ;-)  So I did all of my chores on Monday so when my order came in on Tuesday I had nothing to stop me from stamping.  One of my "Must have" sets was the Walk in the Wild.  I think it will make great masculine cards.  I tried a new fold here and I really liked the way it turned out.  I am not usually one to use the hostess sets but Express Yourself  is so great I know I will use it a lot this next year.

Details:
Stamps: Walk in the Wild, Express Yourself
Paper: Early Espresso, Very Vanilla, Early Espresso Core'dinations
Ink: Early Espresso
Accessories: Big Shot, Chevron Embossing Folder, Word Window Punch, Modern Label Punch, Labels Collection Framelit, Piercing Template
