Happy Mother's Day

Wow, my weeks have been busy and to top it off I found out last week that I have pneumonia!  I had this project scheduled to post last week.  I finally figured out that I never saw it come through my e-mails and when I went to see why it had not posted I found that not only had it not saved any of my information, it had done the same to all 3 of the projects I had ready to go.  All was gone except for the image....not fun!

So this was the card that went to my beautiful mother for Mother's Day.  The flower was stamped with versa mark and embossed with Whisper White embossing powder.  I then used the re-inker and Aqua Pen to color it in.  I find it is easier to color before I cut it out...that way I do not have to stay in the lines. I kept it pretty simple so that it would make it through the mail and actually arrive on time.

Card Details:
Stamps: Fifth Avenue Floral, Well Scripted
Paper: Regal Rose, Old Olive, Daffodil Delight, Whisper White
Ink: VersaMark, Regal Rose
Accessories: Big Shot, Tulip Impression Folder, Beautiful Wings Die, Decorative Label Punch, Leaves-2 step bird Punch, Whisper White Embossing powder

Razzleberry Roses

Off this morning to do the Sketch Challenge...I knew right away right set I wanted to use.  I needed to make an anniversary card so I wanted it warm and romantic.I also knew that I wanted to use the impression folder that matched the set but I did not want to cover it up with the top 2 layers.  I then decided to use a transparency sheet as one of my layers.  I stamped the rose in White Stazon and sponged some around the layer of transparency and card front.  The focus rose was stamped in Versamark ink and embossed with Whisper White Embossing powder.  I then just painted over the whole thing with re-inker and an Aqua Pen.  I went back and filled in some of the areas with a deeper amount of re-inker. I added a flying butterfly in the upper corner to add just a bit more dimension and color.  To add the transparency on without being able to see the adhesive I stuck the focus rose where I wanted it on the transparency and they added the adhesive to the back of the transparency only where the focus rose would cover.  I guess I am still in my monochromatic mode...

Paper: Chocolate Chip, Rich Razzleberry, Whisper White, Old Olive, Regal Rose, Transparency Sheet

Sketch Avenue

Sorry that I was a bad blogger, lat week's schedule was crazy and even thought I had time to stamp (had to fill some orders) I did not have time to post. So I was determined to get this week's Sketch Challenge done today.  Even though I am a little behind, I still got it complete!  I used this color combo last week on one of my orders (which you will see later) and loved it so when I saw this challenge I thought I would try to use it again.  I am not much of a painter but once this card starting to come together I knew I was just going to have to bite the bullet and do it.  I find it so much easier to paint when the outline in raised so I started out by embossing it (another thing I have not done in a very long time.  To do my design on the top layer background I randomly stamped the flower in Elegant Eggplant, Pale Plum and Whisper White Craft Ink.  I used the Ric Rac Eggplant ribbon from the Orchard Ribbon Originals pack.  I used my circle cutter to cut my circles, another thing I forget to grab and use.  Off to pick the kid up from wrestling practice....oh and on a personal note my 14 yr old son made it to State this year in wrestling.  He is a first place regional champ for his weight bracket!

Only Once

This card was made for my dear friend Susan for her birthday. I cased this card from Kharmagirl. I love the colors, layout and of course set that she used. The piercing was the perfect touch. I did use a retired paper, something I very rarely do. I could not match the green paper that she used so I made my own with color on color ink and Whisper White craft ink. Both the gray designer paper and the Baja Breeze paper are embossed with the harlequin texture plate. I did sponge around and across the top of the Baja Breeze.

Stamps: Fifth Avenue Floral
Paper: Baja Breeze, Basic Black, Kiwi Kiss, Whisper White, Retired Prestwick Designer Paper
Ink: Old Olive, Whisper White Craft Ink, Basic Grey
Accessories: Basic Black Grosgrain, 5/16" Jumbo Brads, Mat Pack for piercing

Anniversary

First in case my posts seem jumbled- I have been pre-posting quite a few of my projects for the past few months. That way if I have the time to stamp but do not have the time to post I , hopefully, will always have something on stand by. I just never know when I will not be feeling well enough to stamp or post so at this point I am just building up some drafts.

This specific card went to my sister and brother-in-law the middle of March for their anniversary. Her wedding colors 17 years ago were black, white and red so those were the colors I went with. Speaking of anniversaries my husband and I celebrated our 24th the end of March.

I cased this card from annascreations . I have to say this is now my favorite set and I reach for it quite a bit. So between this set and the Big Shot, I hope you do not get bored...

I just randomly stamped the background with Basic Gray. I cut the Top Note out twice with the Big Shot and Die and trimmed the Basic Black on the perforations. The red rose was embossed with versa mark ink and black embossing powder and then cut out. The little leaves are also die cuts with the Big Shot. The Happy Anniversary is also embossed but with the white embossing powder.

Stamps: Fifth Avenue Floral, Hugs and Wishes
Paper: Basic Black, Real Red, Kiwi Kiss
Ink: Basic Gray, Versa Mark
Accessories: Big Shot, Top Note Die, Little Leaves Die, Whisper White Taffeta Ribbon, White Embossing Powder, Black Embossing Powder
