We just had an open house for our son's graduation in June. It gave me the opportunity to do some painting and decorating that I have wanted to do for some time. This is a portion of our family room, which I now call our heritage room. The pictures and words go all the way around the room. I chose the colors from my favorite color family. I actually took my card stock to the paint store and used the machine to match them perfectly. They are More Mustard, Ruby Red and Chocolate Chip. My kids and husband thought I was crazy when I showed them the colors, but now that it is done they love it. I have gathered pictures from my parents and my husband's parents. The newest are pictures of our parents as young children with their siblings and the oldest I have is of my great-great-great grandparents and children. They are all either printed in black and white or vintage. I so enjoy sitting in this room and looking back at where we came from. After the word got out everyone had to make a stop and take a look before leaving.the open house. It will be a very cherished room in our house for years to come. I used the Big Shot, Chocolate Vinyl Sheets and Serif Essentials Alphabet.
