Another Graduation...

I think this is the last of the 8th grade graduation cards that I had to make. I sat down one day and pretty much did nothing but make cards now I have to go back and figure out which ones I did and did not post yet. To get the single image all I did was to put a piece of tape on the image on each side of the stamp then I stamped in the VersaMark and embossed with Black embossing powder.  To do the banner I stamped my image and cut the v's in each end.  I used 3 glue dots, one on each and and one in the middle to get it to do the wave.  I guess I am in a monochromatic mode.  I love see what the "partners" to all the new colors look like.

Kindergarten Graduation

I was in need of a Kindergarten graduation card.  I wanted it to be bright, colorful and cheerful.  The filmstrip concept is an easy way to make a fun card fast.  I stamped, embossed, and colored with re-inkers and water pens on one sheet. I then punched the owls out with a 1-1/4" Square punch.  If I remember right I gave 1/2" on each side for the Spiral Border Punch.

Love

So we are on to the 3rd side of my blocks. These are so fun to make and I can see many things to use them for. My daughter wants me to make one for her room with her name on it. I love the flocked paper I used underneath the L. I hated to cut it up, but I just needed to use it. The star was punched first with the small star and then with the large star. I cut a slit to slip it around the O. I love the library clips but they do not mail well, so I thought they would make a great addition to a craft, the same goes with the fluffier corduroy buttons. It is hard to see but I did also do some piercing on the corners of the E.

Photography Thank You

I asked a gentleman I know if he could come in to our Home-School classes (we meet once a month for special group classes) and talk to our teens about photography. I was hoping I would learn something too :). So then I got the opportunity to make a Thank You card for him from the group and here is what I came up with. I was debating between anything with the filmstrip and the punch cameras so I decided to merge them both and put the punch camera in the filmstrip. I needed to add the stars so it looks like the flashes were going off. I sponged around the whole front of the card and around each of the white boxes on the filmstrip. I used the crop-a-dile to punch the hole in the center of the smaller circle. This was a fun card to make and I know he will enjoy it!

This is also a CASE from the catalog on page 139. I of course had to change it to make it fit what I have on hand (even retired paper...). I love the turn down corner look and the piercing.

This is another card from the stationary kit I made a few weeks ago. I tried to use the same colors and set through out. The background images are stamped off once.

Yard Film Strip

This card is a full size card. It is made from a full size piece of cardstock folded in half. For those who do not know I make the Thank You cards for those who come and speak to our Home School group. We had a falconer come and showed the kids his Red Tail Hawk and told us how he hunts with her. They love to spend time in the woods so I thought this set would fit right in. I stamped the back with the Sanded Background and sponged around the edges. The images are colored with the markers directly on the stamps. I also sponged around the edges of the images.

Calendar

Today I needed to finally take time and work on my calendar project. I will be holding a class for these the first week of December. This is from the calendar kits that we have right now in the Holiday Mini on page 3.

We will be taking the kit and turning it from a loose leaf calendar into a free standing scrapbook calender. I'm still working on the inside pages, but they will be ready to see at Stamp night on Thursday. I've used the On Board Book Basics (small) on page 180 of the catalog to make the front and back. You will have to shorten the calendar pages a bit to make them fit, but not enough to make a big difference.

Bella Border

I bought the Bella Wheel a while back and have not yet found a card to use it on. Well, today that was my own personal challenge. I rolled the wheel and then scalloped the edge. I then did the cracked glass technique. The bow is actually 4 pieces. The long piece goes around the white Cardstock top. I then made the bow loop and wrapped another piece around it. The tail is just folded in half and glued to the back. Well, I hope you have a nice weekend. Off to do those pesky household chores!

Graduation Thank You Card

So my friends informed me I had to make a wow card for a Thank you (Thanks Julie & Lisa!). Two of my kids graduated from Kindergarten this week. So I was wondering if I had to send two thank you cards to everyone who gave them each a gift? This is how I decided to cover all on the bases. I consider this a wow card and I can put Seth's thank you on the top (since he is a year older) and Shelby's on the bottom. That way it is like two cards in one....do you think I can get away with that? You can find a tutorial on how to do the slider cards here. They are so much fun to make. Bleached Sails

So today I was going through my left over cards. I always tend to prepare extras for workshops and then have some left over. If I have time I try to make them up the next day, but that does not always work out. If I do not have time they get put in a plastic shoe box to be completed later. This poor left over sat so long that the DSP that came with the kit had retired, along with some of the other aspects. So I decided to go my own way. I've wanted to emboss and bleach so that is what I did! I embossed the boat and used my Aquapen and bleach to color in the sails. I used the 1/4" circle punch to punch the holes for the ribbon. I wanted something different and it seems to fit. I also embossed the words and then punched them out. I bought this set because my 8 yr old loved it. I must say thank you to him again! The card measures 3" x 6" and will fit in our 6 3/4" x 3 /12" envelopes.

Belated Birthday

I just got this set (Elementary Essentials) yesterday. It is part of this month's SU special. You can get it for $19.57 with any $30 purchase. If you can tell I am using eyelets more. Since I bought the crop-a-dile I had to by more eyelets, ok, all of the eyelets.... They are so simple to add now! This card was made for the SCS Ways to use it challenge. The challenge was to Spiral it. The pencil was smooshed in the Versamark and embossed over with Clear embossing powder.
