Sketch Flower

Today was the Sketch Challenge. I love the fact that I can use this to start a card. I think it makes it so much easier to have a sketch started. I love to look at the gallery to see how other people interpreted the sketch. it can go in so many directions. The flower was embossed with Perfect plumb and then colored in with re-inkers and the aquapens. I went sloppy since I was cutting it out I did not have to stay in the lines. I then just added some more e\ink tot he spots I wanted to shade. I used the gel pen to make the dots around the edge of the large oval. The ovals I cut out with Coluzzle. I just curled the flower on my fingers after I cut it out. I'm trying to use sets that have been put away for awhile. We have had no snow for a few days so here comes the flowers again! I sponged Pale Plum around the edge of the Whisper White oval and White Craft around the edge of the Perfect Plum oval.

2 Fold Card

Today's Challenge was the Technique challenge. The challenge was to make a two way open card. Once again I got my colors from the outfit I wore to church on Sunday. Maybe I should make that a personal challenge for my Monday's ;). I added dazzle to the scallop punch with versamark and Iredescent Ice embossing powder. The sentiment was done with craft ink and clear embossing powder. Well, my morning went far to fast today. It was probably because this snow just will not stop! Color Challenge

Boy, was the >Color Challenge today a doozee! The colors for today are Night of Navy, Real Red and Glorious Green. When I asked my kids what they thought of my card they all said it would be better if I had used different colors....Well, I think it turned out kind of Christmasy. We had some nice weather almost to the 70's. Now it is freezing cold again and suppose to snow today so I guess it fits. ;)

Long Scallop

I rotated the sketch today for the Sketch Challenge. I have ignored some of my older sets lately. So today I decided to grab a couple that I had not used in a while and combine them with some of the new stuff. I of course wanted to use my Fusion flowers again today, that is where I got my color combo. I had this thought to do with the scallop punch yesterday, so today I was glad it fit into the sketch. I apologize if this has been done. I have not yet seen it. If so please let me know so I can give credit where credit is due! I did the Twill with Vanilla Craft ink. My oldest son thought I had crimped it (he loves the crimper). I so hope we get more colors in the flowers next catalog!

The they can be thinner to layer too. I found the trick is just to make sure you have the same amount of teeth on each side.

Birthday Quilt

Well, I had a request from a friend for a card for her daughter's 6th Birthday. I had the quilt card in mind and what I could do to it to make it more of a card for a little girl. So I did the same exact thing as I did for this card. I embossed the flower from Doodle this and cut it out. I attached it with a rhinestone brad and a glue dot for dimension. She loved it, which makes me very happy!

Follow His Star

I stamped stars with the So Saffron ink on the Twill tape. I inked the star with So Saffron and then took the Ruby Red marker around the edge. This was made for today's Sketch Challenge.

Pointsetta

I've seen this layout so much lately I just had to use it. It is a simple yet out of the ordinary layout. I'll give you a sneak peak at next month's SU special. It will have to do with buying designer paper and getting some free. So today I am using some of my designer paper. The hardest part is deciding which side to use. I tried to keep it simple today as it is Monday and I have 5 kids asking me a million questions about school. The half circle was made with the Coluzzle. The pierced edges are suppose to resemble the pattern in the paper. I probably should of just left it pierced...I put a mini glue dot in the center of the flower and dumped some Dazzling Diamonds on it. I stamped the image and colored in in very diluted ink and aqua pens. I love the Rose Red DSP with the Purely Pomegranate

Bleached Doodles

So the challenge today as to use heat embossing on a card and keep it simple. One of my favorite things to do with outlined embossed objects is color them in with bleach. I pour some bleach in one of my Aqua pens and just color between the lines. I am always surprised at what color it may turn into. For example I expected this to just go lighter blue. I was going to accent with the Soft Sky. It turned out a slight reddish color when bleached, so I went with the Purely Pomegranate. The ribbon is just glue dotted around the top layer and the 3 ties are tied on. That is an easy way to save some ribbon.

Resist Flower

This card was made for today's Technique Challenge. It incorporates two different resist techniques. One is the Emboss Resist and one is the Versamark resist. I stamped my doodle image with Versamark ink on White Glossy paper. I then used clear embossing powder to seal it. I stamped the flower image in Versamark and left it. I then brayered over both images with Blue Bayou ink. I then stamped some partial edge flower with Blue Bayou. I used the corner rounder and the 1/8" circle punch to do the lace edge. I found the pearl string sitting on my desk. They had fallen off my daughter's dress and I had no intention of putting them back on so I thought they fit great here. I sponged around the edge of all the Soft Sky with Blue Bayou. I dyed the Pretties by rubbing them in the ink pad.
