Millner Frame

Another "Name Frame" went out in June.  I still use my retired Alphabet die because it is just the size alphabet that I want for these.  I do not save or use many things when they are no longer in the catalog but these will have a home until another their size comes around. I found some new bigger frames so I am able to do longer names, which is great for someone with the last name Rippentrop. ;-)

Another Name Frame found a home to a new couple.  Since the invitation was pink I decided to use pink as one of the colors.  In this case Strawberry Slush. The Flowers were sprayed with water and crumbled up and then opened up to dry.  I stamped them prior with the flower form Blooming with Kindness and sprayed with some glitter spray after they had dried. I print the date from my computer.

New Grandson

I am very excited to say that we got a new grandson.  Kyle Nathan was 10# 4 oz, 21" long and was born on December 6th.  I try to make the frames so they will not be babyish but will grow with them.  Since his father is a big water fowl hunter I thought it fit to have a bird on there.

Kayla Name Frame

I can't believe my daughter had one more friend who had not received one of these name frames as a gift yet (Lol).  When we were still in our gift planning stage my daughter mentioned that Kayla said that she would love one of the frames for Christmas.  Her favorite colors are blue and purple so that is where we started. My daughter pulled out the Color Coach and started matching colors with the DSP that I had on hand. This one is retired (I thought I had used it all up) I had just gotten the Fun Flowers die so I just had to use it.  I always enjoy making these and this one was very fun to do.

Name Frames

I had to make two name frames this last week.  I did  not have time and I knew that these two people would probably never cross paths so I decided to make them similar with a few slight differences.  The one of the bottom I did first and forgot to take a picture before I put the glass in....so no matter what I tried I could not get an accurate picture. To see closer pictures click on the image and they should open in a new tab/window. The top one I  was told that the bride likes vintage and browns so I decided to sponge the edges and curl some flowers.  I cut my paper a little too big so I decided that the small strip would be added to the bottom (must look close) funny thing is that this paper is the same no matter how I flipped it so I had to cut it to off set it just a bit.  For both of them I cut out the center flower of the Lace Ribbon Border punch to give a change to the border.  I  used 3 different size Basic Pearls on the top one.

Details:

Stamps:None
Paper: Cajun Craze. Early Espresso, Very Vanilla, Always Artichoke, Well Worn DSP
Ink: Island Indigo, Lucky Limeade
Accessories: Big Shot, Finial Press Impression Embossing Folder, Basic Pearls, Victoria Crochet Trim Ribbon, Antique Brad, Flower from the Itty Bitty  Shapes Punch Pack, Flower center: Small end of Crop-a dile, Lace Ribbon Border Punch

Sadie Name Frame

Here is the Name frame that I had made the Rattle Card to match.  When I think of the name Sadie, my new niece, I think of a vintage name and just went that way. Since I do not have much for new DSP yet, since she was born the day before the catalog release, I was still using up my last years DSP.  If you visit often you know that I am a punch lover and the new triple punches are GREAT!  It is hard to tell with my images but the letters a sponged (surprised ?!?!) and ran through the big shot with an impression folder.
Card Details:
Stamps: None
Paper: Blueberry Crisp DSP, Soft Suede, Garden Green, Marina Mist
Ink: Sponging-Soft Suede, Garden Green, Marina Mist

Baby Boy Name Plaque

I had to get together a baby shower gift so this weeks posts will contain the card, bag and gift that I made this last weekend. I wanted them all to co-ordinate so I tried to keep the circle theme and colors through out.

I found the easiest way to make the circles is to punch the small one first and work my way out. Since for the 3 projects I was working on I started with the 3/8" circle punch and worked my way out to the 1-3/4" circle punch.  That way I had various sizes to work with and used as little card stock as possible.

Card Details:
Stamps: None
Paper: Marina Mist, Not Quite Navy, Blueberry Crisp Designer Paper
Ink: None
Accessories: Big Shot, Circle Punches,  Serif Essentials Alphabet (large), Naturally Serif Alphabet Die (small),, 1/8" Marina Mist Taffeta Ribbon, Frame

So here is the boy plaque that I made. It is hard to see but the paper in the background is stripped. The tie through the button is card stock cut very very thin and tied. I just now realized that I put the O on backwards, so I will have to correct that.

Big Shot Name Plaque

Well, it has been a while since I have made one of these. Since all of my alphabet stamps have retired I decided to give it a try with the Serif Essentials Big Shot alphabet (after all that was the reasoning I used to talk myself into buying them...). I think it turned out very pretty and I hope the customer will be pleased. I am working on a boys one for her also with 7 letters. I guess the size does not limit as much as I was worried about.
