Congratulation Graduate

So I am hooked on the Tri-Shutter Cards that I just had to make another one.  I thought how fun would it be to do a graduation one.  To see the tutorial on Splitcoast click here.  The tassel is just very finely cut paper with the end left intact and placed under a brad.  The C is on Dimensionals to pop it up.  The diploma is just Very Vanilla Card stock rolled up, tied and curled up the edges and held on with glue dots.  Off to make some more!

Love

So we are on to the 3rd side of my blocks. These are so fun to make and I can see many things to use them for. My daughter wants me to make one for her room with her name on it. I love the flocked paper I used underneath the L. I hated to cut it up, but I just needed to use it. The star was punched first with the small star and then with the large star. I cut a slit to slip it around the O. I love the library clips but they do not mail well, so I thought they would make a great addition to a craft, the same goes with the fluffier corduroy buttons. It is hard to see but I did also do some piercing on the corners of the E.

This card was fun to make. If it wasn't for my unsteady coloring I would love it. I did not even realize that the double circle punch retired until I posted this card (boo hoo) I love it to make faux brads. It might be one I have to hold on to for a while...

Star Wishes

Ok, so this idea came once again from the Stamp and Smile Blog. I loved the idea of the bottom of the card. I took the Top Note die and instead of putting the card stock on the long way I put it on the short way. Than I only ran it through the Big Shot just far enough so that it cut just the first edge. I am so glad I ran across this card for this concept alone! It is hard to see but I have a textured pattern behind the star. The trim of the circle was just done with 2 circle punches. I found it easiest to punch the smaller punch first. I sponged around the edges of all of the print pattern papers with Chocolate Chip ink. I love the larger brads and I know I wil be buying new ones soon!

Get Well Star

I needed a fun get well card for a child who is having surgeries. I thought this one would be fun to case. I changed it to fit what I had on hand and what I needed it for. I sponged around the edge of the Pumpkin Pie Print Pattern Card Front.

Jackson Plaque

So here is the boy plaque that I made. It is hard to see but the paper in the background is stripped. The tie through the button is card stock cut very very thin and tied. I just now realized that I put the O on backwards, so I will have to correct that.

Congrats Stars

This was a fun card to make! This was for a demo challenge. Once a month two sketches and 3 color combos are posted. You have to put something together from those options. I do not visit there as often as I would like. There are only so many challenges a girl can do on limited time. I always love it when I get a chance. I need to read the directions on my crop-a-dile better. Every now and them I am butchering my eyelets because I just grab and do not pay attention to what setting I have it on. I guess it is tunnel vision...

Many Stars Thanks

I'm just playing with some new toys today. I just go the Classic Stars Jumbo Wheel. I though tit would go great with the punches. I also just got the SAB set Lots of Thoughts. I colored those with the markers to get the various colors from the same stamp.I ran the Really Red wide Grosgrain across the back. I am loving the wide stuff, just check out my last few posts...I think I have used it quite a bit the last few days.

Pieced Stars

So today was the color challenge. The colors were Soft Sky, Blue Bayou and Real Red. I am always short of Birthday cards especially ones that can be used for kids or men so that was the direction I was headed this morning. I decided I wanted to punch the stars and piece DSP behind them. The first DSP I grabbed had dots so I went the "dotted" way and decided everything would be dotted. I used my Hot to Dot wheel, which I must of missed on my retired list as it did not get pulled from my shelf... I punched out the stars and put the paper behind. I pierced the large star and added my layers.

Cameo Lighthouse

This card was made today for the Limited Supplies challenge on SCS. You were suppose to use 2 colors from within the same color family, no more than 2 embellishments and limited tools. I think I stayed within the limits very well. I just went to my card stock shelf and grabbed to colors next to each other. I had the small Cameo strip left over from trimming the card front and decided to use it as a layer. I then saw the Ruby Star already punched and stuck to my shelf front. I had made it last week when I made my Punched Star card. I changed colors on my other card and never used it. So I used it (and made a friend) on this card.

Punched Star

Boy, the color did not photograph well with this one. I may have to try and get another picture later. This was done for the Limited Supplies Challenge. The Challenge was to not to use any white or vanilla shades of card stock. I have had this idea for a while and decided to do it today. I just punched the various stars, laid them out and glued them down.

Eggplant Elephant

Boy, things are hectic around here! Between finishing up my cards and gift, trying to finish school before Christmas break, running my son to band and the other to driver's training....I'm tired! I've had no time to stamp except orders and gifts. Praise the Lord my son passed his test this morning and we now have another driver in the house.

This card was made for today's Color Challenge on SCS. While I was sitting waiting for my son to return for his test I sketched this out. So I just had to put it together when I got home. Of course the phone did not stop ringing so I am further behind today....but I made a card!!! I love layering the star punches. I was going to pierce around the eggplant star but I had troubles seeing the edge so I just stuck to the once. I did not want to put a sentiment on it as I am not sure it's destination as of yet. We have soooo many birthdays in our families in January so I am sure it will find a good home soon.

So I got in my Demo Pre-order yesterday. I did not order very much, but I just had to use what I did get. I got the color choice from the Color Challenge today on SCS. I questioned the combo when I first saw it, but I really like the way they went together. Well, I better get this card finished and in the mail tomorrow so it can get to it's destination in time!
