Butterfly Blessings

I have been going through cards left and right the last couple of weeks.  I started making them to sell for a fund raiser for our boy's basketball team.  I have gone through 160+ cards in the last two weeks. Hopefully I will get around to blogging most of them soon.  I made over 85 cards just this last week for tonight's home game.  For this one I was paging through the catalog looking for layouts, color schemes etc.  I came across a card on page 178 of 3 butterflies and from that this card came to be.  There was not enough room for the whole sentiment (and yes I had to use the Stamp a ma jig) so I colored what I wanted with the marker.  I thought the font used in the sentiment stamp was perfect with the Four Frames image! The butterflies were folded in haif and then curled up with my fingers.  I just ran a bit of mono adhesive down the center to glue them down.  Since the boys (home schooled) play for a Christian school league (and are ranked #1, 11-1) this card will sell very fast.  I have lots of requests for this type.

Fall Wreath

 I needed some fun fall Thanksgiving cards.  Since the leaves crumple and curl up, I though it fit for the card stock to be crumpled and curled up.  I love the Antique Brads and thought they fit the look I was going for here. How I do the crumpled paper: I stamp the images that I want on the card stock, then I run it through my crimper a few times, different directions.  After the paper is nice and loose I spray it with a bit of water and crumble it in my hand.  Once it is like I want it, I open it up to dry.  If you are wanting to separate the corner, it is easier to do while it is still wet.

Mario Punch Art

My son needed a card to go with the gift card he bought his friend for his birthday.  I went by the image of Mario on the gift card and started grabbing punches until I found the ones I think worked best. I tried to share as many as I could remember below in the Details box.  The inside is 11" x 5.25"  I scored in the center and lined up the edges and folded to get the other folds. I did all my stamping before scoring/folding. I glued all the way around and at the seam center.  The only thing glued on the pop up center is the top and bottom.  I then used my Word Window Punch to get the depth and length I needed for the card to be how I wanted it to show.  I used my retired crop-a-dile to do the eye center points.  I am sure a white pen or crayon would work well too.

Bridal Bike

This week I am going to share a few of the wedding cards that I put together a while back.  This one, the image and words were made in My Digital studio.  I added a slight shadow to it.  I had seen so many cards made with this set but I did not own the set.  I was so glad that I had it in MDS so that I could put this together the way I imagined it.  The great part about creating my images in MDS os that I could make them the exact size that I needed to fit in the shapes I wanted to use.

Floral For You

I was looking to make a quick and easy card today and this one fell right into place.  I love how this set is separated so I do not have to color each element independently.

To do the center flower I stamped it in the ink pad and off once on paper.  Then I used the marker to color in a few of the circles to make them more bold.

I have a few friends that are great blessings in my life and when I made this card I thought of how thankful I am that God put them in my life, whether they be near or far away.

The flowers were sprayed with a Champagne Mist Shimmer paint mixed with rubbing alcohol, to give it a nice subtle sparkle.

So I am trying to stock up my On-Line card store with various occasions of cards.  It seems like there are so many people I know that are going through some very tough times right now.  The best comfort I know of is to lean on God.  So there is no better way to comfort someone than with His words.

I stamped the image in the Early Espresso and used a wet q-tip to clean off the birds.  I then colored them with a marker to get them the color I wanted.  I figured blue birds were a good fit.

This is the last of the "old" cards that I have had saved in drafts.  I do not have information on it but I wanted to share it anyways.  As I said, things got a bit overwhelming in my household and my good intentions of having posts lined up for when I was off to doctor appointments did not go as planned.  I know some of these sets will already be on my retired list or no longer available.  I hope you can get some inspiration from them for a color, layout  or just something you can use to create a card you can share.    ;-) 

I have a new order coming in tomorrow and will start designing my Christmas cards.  I hope now that school has started again and we are back to a somewhat normal schedule that I will be able to spend some time in my work space and get some projects posted once again.
