Cut Out Bronc

So today's Technique challenge on SCS was to do a cut out card. These are so fun to do. I love this new bronc set so just had to grab it again. The horse and words are embossed. The words I tapped off extra hard because I did not want a pure look. I wanted it to look a little roughed up.

Paper: Basic Black, Basic Gray
Ink: Craft- Basic Black and Whisper White, Classic-Basic Gray

Rosey Lilacs

I had this idea last night to use the scallop punch around the edge of a card. I do not know if it just came to mind or if I saw it some place first. This old mind doesn't work the same anymore. The Regal Rose on the flowers are embossed with Iridescent Ice embossing powder. Since this was for the Color Challenge I only had one shade of green to work with. I stamped off the Old Olive to get the lighter color for the leaves. I messed up and forgot to stamp off the last leaf, hence why the corner is folded up. I added the Circle of friend sentiment for more of a cover up. I think it works. I got a chance to use the wide grosgrain ribbon. So glad the color I had fit this challenge. Just when I was ready to take a picture my friend called. I took the phone outside so I could talk and hear over the kids. I sit down on the front porch and set my card in the plant there. It worked, so I shot the picture from there!

Stamps: Blossoms Abound, Circle Of Friendship
Paper: Old Olive, Regal Rose, Pretty in Pink, Whisper White
Ink: Old Olive, Pretty in Pink, Regal Rose (Craft)
Accessories: Fire Circle Rhinestones, Scallop Punch, Regal Rose 5/8" Grosgrain ribbon, Iridescent Ice and Clear embossing powder, 1" Circle Punch, 1 1/4" circle punch

Friday's Cards

Sorry about not posting yesterday. I had company, my sister, over to stamp for the day. We got a lot of stamping and chattering done. I got a migraine so I was not able to post some of the cards I did yesterday. I hope posting 3 today will make up for it. :)

This is actually for today's SCS Limited Supply challenge. The challenge was to make a monochromatic card using no embellishments. Boy, was that hard. This really could use some brads and ribbon.
Stamps: Fine Lace, Looks Like SPring, Define you Life, Everyday Flexible Phrases
Paper: Basic Black, Basic Gray
Ink: Basic Black

Yesterday's Challenge was a Ways to Use it challenge. The challenge was to dress up the corners in some way. I went through my cards yesterday and was very low of Get well cards so I decided this challenge would go this way. I added Crystal Effects to the petals (one globbed on me in the end UGH!) to make it look like dew on them. I love the Pretties kit!!
Stamps: Speckled Jumbo Wheel, Sincere Salutations , Looks like Spring
Paper: Perfect Plum, Pale Plum, Whisper White
Ink: Perfect Plum, Pale Plum

Buggy Birthday

So when I first showed this to my son his reply was "Mom, it is kind of kiddy. Don't you think?" Well that was the idea! I do send cards to kids too. I try to make sure the kids in our Home schooling group all get a card. So this one will come in handy. This is for today's sketch challenge. I'm trying to challenge myself to use more BB colors. They are great but I tend not to use them much. The bugs are embossed and popped up on dimensionals.

Stamps: Dotted Background, Bugs and Kisses
Paper: Glorious Green, Summer Sun, Whisper White, Real Red, Brilliant Blue
Ink: Summer Sun, Glorious Green, Brilliant Blue, Real Red, Craft-Basic Black, Read Red, I used the basic Black marker to put the dots on the lady bug.

Genuine Happy Birthday

So this is for today's Color challenge. The colors today are Not Quite Navy, Bordering Blue, Mellow Moss and Alway Artichoke (Optional-didn't use) I needed some more manly b-day cards so this was great. It seems lately that my cards get a mind of their own. This is not how I envisioned this when I started out. It just ended up there, I like... So I am addicted tot he Bronc Buster set and the replacing the words with the words window punch. I will for sure get my monies worth out of these sets. I hardly ever use a hostess set. Usually they get taken out of the box and put in a drawer for the retirement sale at the end of the year. This set has a few I will use. For those who know me, they know I love my punches and this is set is made for them!
Stamps: Bronc Busters, Define your Life, Flannel Background, Party Punch (Hostess set)
Paper: Not Quite Navy, Bordering Blue, Mellow Moss, Very Vanilla

Tapestry Technique

I LOVE this set. Growing up my parent's owned a western store for a few years and then after I graduated HS I was a nanny on a farm. After the parents would get home I got to go riding. It was a great summer! Even my husband named all of our boys what he considered "western names : Heath (from Bonanza), Kaleb, Garrett (Pat Garrett), and Levi. This was created for today's technique challenge. The challenge was to do the Tapestry Technique. It was a lot of fun! The bronc and cowboy image and star are embossed also. The star is "popped" on a dimensional.

My Pretty

Ok, I am so lovin' the new In Colors I may never use any of the other colors.....

Today's challenge on SCS was Limited Supplies Challenge. Here is what we could use:
Flowers:
stamped flowers, punched flowers, silk flowers, etc.
Bouquet:
2 or more flowers
Stamps:
sentiments or letters to spell out a sentiment + any backgrounds and flowers
Paper & Ink: any
Embellishments: 2 or less
Tools: any
I think I stuck to the rules. I just had to use some of the prima flowers from the new SU! Pretties kit. It is loaded with stuff!. I could not believe all that came in that tin. I used the new Double stitched ribbon, of course in the new colors! I tried to bring the double stitch look back to the top with the faux stitching around " My Friend" I dyed the flowers in re-inkers and dried with my heat gun. I have never used Prima Flowers before so this was a lot of fun. I rubbed some extra Pomegranate ink on the edges of the Guava flower.

Paper: Wild Wasabi, Groovy Guava
Ink: Purely Pomegranate,Wild Wasabi, Groovy Guava
Accessories: Groovy Guava DBl Stitched Ribbon, Tool kit for piercing, White Signo gel Pen, Pretties kit -Flowers and rhinestone brad

Ink:River Rock, Always Artichoke, Versamark

This one I was thrilled when I found that the word window punch fit in between the stars. Now it can say anything I want it to say. I just had to get the Define your life set. Yes, it is expensive but it has sooo much. I know I will use it a lot! Here I punched through both layers of Card stock and used the Stamp-a-majig to get my words where I wanted them.
Stamps: Bronc Buster, Define Your Life

New Toys!

So my order came in while I was out getting groceries. I will more than likely not have time to play tonight, but will try to get them cut out and mounted before going to bed. Can you tell I love ribbon and punches? I think the new In Colors are wonderful!!!!

Loads of Wishes

So I always thought that this saying was to be used more in the winter when someone was cold. Well, I am am always cold. I love it hot!!! When my poor dear friends come over to stamp they cook. I do not so it on purpose to me it is not even warm. So I thought it appropriate to put it on this card. The black on the truck and flowers are embossed. I used the silver metallic pencils for the hub caps and the rest is painted with watercolor crayons and aqua pens. I had originally intended to just punch the flowers with a circle punch and place in the back of the truck. I grabbed the oval punch and it looked like a surf board to me so I went with it. The sentiment and background are just punched with the larger oval punch and tilted a slight turn each.

HEY!!! My new catalog order is due to arrive today!!! I cannot wait to play with all my new toys. What will I post tomorrow????? So many ideas and so little time....does the family really need food and clean clothes?

Bonus Round

I just had to do this sketch today. It is such a great "out of the box" sketch! I need more practice on getting the corners to line up better with the Trimtastic but it is something I will do again! The circular image is popped up on a pop up glue dot.

Stamps: Trimtastic, Baroque Motifs
Paper: Ruby Red, Cameo Coral
Ink: Ruby Red
Accessories: Tool Kit for Piercing, Coluzzle Circle

Flannel Flower

Today I completed a demo challenge. I hope to get tot he sketch challenge some time today yet. The challenge today was to Crinkled Ink. So I used Saran Wrap, dipped it into the Blue Bayou classic ink pad and dabbed it on the paper. I also did this with the Versamark ink on the background. I wanted glitter but not total coverage, sot his worked great. Of course now my keyboard has a pretty shimmer. I stamped the flannel background in Blue Bayou on the Soft sky paper. I then stamped the Doodle This flower right on top and cut out. I stuck a mini glue dot in the center of the flower. I then dipped in the Dazzling Diamonds.

Stamps: Flannel Background, Doodle This, Holiday & Wishes
Paper: Blue Bayou, Soft Sky
Ink: Blue Bayou, Versamark

Simon's Birthday

So today would of been my nephew's 4th birthday. This is a hard week for us as he, my baby sister and her husband where killed in a car accident on the 13th four years ago. Simon was only 4 days old. I enjoy making my nephews and nieces b-day cards. I'm sure they do not enjoy them as much as the check included, but both moms are stampers... I thought I need to make Simon a card too! This will be going in a box of cards I have for our church Missionaries. My brother-in-law and sister where going to Bible school getting ready for the ministry when they were killed. So the cards I make with them in mind should go to those in the ministry.

I added Crystal Effects around the mane. The head is attached with an dimensional. I spritzed the background with the spritzer for more of a jungle theme. How come every time I use this set I have to sing "In the Jungle, the quite jungle"?????
Stamps: Wild About You
Paper: Old Olive, Petals & Paisleys, More Mustard, Very Vanilla
Ink: Apricot Appeal, More Mustard

Babies, Babies, and more Babies

I think we have 8 ladies in our church expecting yet this year.
This is for one who had her baby on the 3rd. An adorable little girl.

I had a friend call yesterday. She is throwing a shower for an expectant friend and needed some invites. So I designed 3 and she got to pick.
Which do you think she picked?

Open Face Invite
The words need to be adjusted so the alligator does not cover them.

Lion
This one the celery sits in the center and "baby" is stamped all around on the edge of the apricot.

Giraffe
This one has all of the invite information under the giraffe flap.

Celebrate

So toady was sketch day. We are painting on the duplex apartment hoping to get new renters this week. So time is at a crunch and I just HAD to make a patriotic card. Of course it had to be red, white and blue. I tried to make the flowers look like fireworks. I had to emboss the white to get them to show so the rest had to be embossed too. I used the spritzer to add the speckles on the background. The celebrate is embossed too and I used the cracked glass technique on the main image. I decided at the last minute to off set the image on it's base.

Stamps: Wonderful Words, Double Line Doodle
Paper: Brilliant Blue, Real Red, Whisper White
Ink: Craft- Whisper White, Brilliant Blue, Real Red, Versamark, Markers- Real Red, Brilliant Blue

Golden Motifs

Today's Demo challenge was to use metal. I love tone on tone embossing with the brushed metallic paper. It gives such a great look and it is so easy. I used the paper piercing template to space the brads or they would be all screwed up. I did not want the words as obvious so I just used the encore ink for that.
Stamps: Baroque Motifs
Paper: Regal Rose, Rose Red, Gold Brushed, Palette O'Print
Ink: Versamark, Gold Encore
Accessories: Gold Brads, Paper piercing template, Gold embossing powder
